Boo<\/strong>: Oh boy!!! [Charges into the pile, scattering cardboard, tissue and ribbon everywhere<\/em>]<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: [Hearing approaching footsteps<\/em>] Ssshhh! You blew it noisy girl – here she comes.<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: Rats. Scram!<\/p>\n

Missus<\/strong>: [Entering the area in a panic<\/em>] Kitties! Outta there! [She flushes them out of the room and closes the door.<\/em>] I can’t leave my guard down for one moment with you two. Gnawing ribbons is dangerous. I shouldn’t have left the door open. Go on now; scoot!<\/p>\n

Kitties<\/strong>: Mew? Purrroww?<\/p>\n

Missus<\/strong>: Go on. Santa’s going to leave coal in your stockings, if you’re not careful.<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: [In a whisper to Yeti as they skedaddle<\/em>] Is that edible?<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: [Whispering back<\/em>] If you like stuff on fire.<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: [Out loud, sticking her tongue out<\/em>] No thanks.<\/p>\n

Missus<\/strong>: [From the room they were just in<\/em>] Hello? Kitties, is that you?<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: [Still whispering to Boo<\/em>] Keep it down; you’re going to ruin us! [Boo winces; they run upstairs<\/em>]<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: That was close!<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: We have a pact; she just can’t<\/em> catch us talking. There’s a lot of sneaking around hiding things this time of year, and we’re going to have to be extra careful; we’re too in the habit of using their language. I’m putting the kibosh on it for now.<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: Even on the mlog?<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: No, silly.<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: Right. What fun are the holidays if we can’t mess with their minds? [She jumps as a toy fish lands next to them from out of nowhere<\/em>] MEOW!<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: [Facepaws<\/em>] We’re through….<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: [Rattled, whispering again<\/em>] …uh…w-where is she? [Yeti shrugs, scouts and returns<\/em>]<\/p>\n

Yeti<\/strong>: I don’t see her. She must have thrown it up the stairwell and left. We’re safe. Whew.<\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong>: Or…she’s<\/em> messing with us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Both Kitties<\/strong>: [Tails drooping with dread<\/em>] Nooo….<\/p>\n

Missus<\/strong>: [Coming up the stairs<\/em>] Kitties! Who wants supervised ribbon-playing time?<\/p>\n

Kitties<\/strong>: Meow! Me! Mew! Me!<\/p>\n

Missus<\/strong>: Aw, you’re almost talking. There it is. Get it! Yeah, that’s right! Good girls!<\/p>\n
